Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, has welcomed the Morrison Government’s announcement of a $17.6 billion economic plan to keep Australians in jobs, keep businesses in business and support households and the Australian economy as the world deals with the significant challenges posed by the spread of the coronavirus.
“Our targeted stimulus package is focused on keeping Australians in jobs and helping small and medium sized businesses to stay in business, especially here in Mitchell,” Alex Hawke said.
The package has four parts:

Thank you to the many schools in Mitchell who lodged an application under the Local Schools Community Fund.
Under the Local Schools Community Fund, funding of up to $200,000 was available for schools in each Federal electorate to benefit students and school communities through funding contributions for small scale projects and their associated costs.
Mitchell received a large number of applications and I am delighted to announce that after a challenging review and recommendation process, 12 projects totalling $200,000 were successful.
With more lives, homes and economic livelihoods at risk in communities like Eden, the Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced the establishment of a $2 Billion National Bushfire Recovery Fund to assist those affected by the fires.
