The 2019-20 Budget is the next stage of the Morrison Government’s plan to build a stronger economy and secure a better future for all Australians.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said the Budget delivers the first surplus in more than a decade, creates more jobs, lowers taxes and guarantees essential services like schools, hospitals and roads.

“After more than a decade of deficits, this budget forecasts a surplus of $7.1 billion in 2019-20 – a 
$55.5 billion turnaround from the deficit we inherited seven years ago,” Alex Hawke said.

Patients in Mitchell and throughout the North West Sydney will now be able to access lifesaving scans for cancer, stroke, heart and other medical conditions, with the Liberal National Government announcing an upgraded licence to PRP Diagnostics Imaging at Norwest Private Hospital.

This full MRI licence means locals will be able to access a Medicare rebate for an estimated 5,900 services a year – saving lives and reducing the costs for patients.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, encourages people with disability, their families or carers, in Mitchell, to have their say on draft Terms of Reference for a Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.

Alex Hawke welcomed the Australian Government’s announcement to begin an important public consultation process to shape the scope of a Royal Commission.

The consultation process was announced by Minister for Families and Social Services, Paul Fletcher, and is open until 28 March 2019.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP said today, the Morrison and Berejiklian Governments will ensure the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport has a metro line in time for its opening.

The Prime Minister and this Government $3.5 billion rail package commitment would help bring the vision to life, alongside a matching contribution from the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government.

North-South Rail will connect St Marys, the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the Aerotropolis at North Bringelly.
