The Australian Government has opened the second round of Transition Assistance Funding to help businesses build their workforce capabilities to effectively operate in the NDIS.

A total funding pool of $8.8 million is available in this latest round.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said disability and aged care organisations in Mitchell are encouraged to apply for their share of Transition Assistance Funding, with 440 grants, worth up to $20,000 each, currently on offer.

Consultation on Australia’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy is underway, with the Australian Government seeking views from across the country to improve the cyber security of Australian citizens, community groups and businesses.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said this is an opportunity for Australian families and businesses to talk to the Australian Government about how best to protect them online.

Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, is encouraging local community groups to apply for new swimming grants to enable or improve opportunities for people with disabilities and from diverse backgrounds to enjoy this great Aussie past-time.

Working in partnership with Swimming Australia, the Community Swimming Grants Program allows organisations the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $10,000 and has been delivered as part of the Morrison Government’s $28.9 million Move It AUS – Participation Grants Program.

Cheaper medicine is on the way for more than 500,000 patients from October 1, with price reductions for common scripts and new medicines added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), in some cases saving over $100,000 per patient.

Medicines to treat lung cancer, lymphoblastic and acute leukaemia, and nausea associated with chemotherapy will now be available to patients on the PBS from tomorrow for just $40.30 per script, or $6.50 with a concession card.

The Morrison Government has delivered on its commitment to shield Australians from discrimination on the basis of religion, with the release of a draft Religious Discrimination Bill.  I have previously stated, and still adhere to, that freedom of thought, conscience, speech and worship are essential and vital protections are needed. We need to get this legislation right for our nation. Your submissions are important to developing these Bills before being introduced into Parliament.
