It was a pleasure to host the Federal Minister for the Environment, the Hon Sussan Ley in the electorate of Mitchell visiting Baxter Healthcare’s on-site recycling operations including PVC granulator that prepares empty IV bags for use in new products including garden hose and gumboots.

Steven Flynn – General Manager, Australia and New Zealand from Baxter Healthcare undertook a tour of sustainable manufacturing, including solar and gas fire tri-generation, and waste minimization programs in manufacturing of PVC IV fluids bags.

A roundabout at the intersections of Boundary, Neich and Pitt Town Roads, in Maraylya, is now complete thanks to funding received from the Federal Government’s Black Spot Funding Program.

The new road improvement will help to make the intersection safer for all road users.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne thanked the Federal Government for their $760,00 contribution towards the road upgrade.

“The intersection at Boundary, Neich and Pitt Town Roads was a real concern for residents and road users,” Mayor Byrne said.
