Mr HAWKE (Mitchell—Assistant Minister for Home Affairs) (10:21): It is my pleasure to speak with great pride about some of the great citizens who won The Hills Shire Council Australia Day awards for this year.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, is urging interested local residents to have their say on the staffing of Aged Care homes in the North West Sydney region and across the nation, by participating in an online survey or by contributing to the current national review of the Aged Care workforce.
“Everyone understands how important appropriately resourced and trained staff are to providing the care our senior Australians deserve,” said Alex Hawke MP.
The Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, encourages young local athletes to apply for Round 3, 2017-18 of the Local Sporting Champions program.
The Local Sporting Champions program is designed to support young people participating in state, national and international level sporting championships as an athlete, coach or official.
“Our community has a wealth of outstanding junior sportspeople in the Hills district and it is important that we support the next generation of Australian sporting champions, said Alex Hawke.
Companies in New South Wales will benefit from new Australian Government initiatives, included in the new Defence Export Strategy released on Monday 29 January 2018.
MR HAWKE (Mitchell) (12:23): I move the amendments 1 to 13 as circulated in my name together. The amendments here are relatively straightforward. I say the House today these amendments are examples of ways we can improve this bill in consistent application with the intention of the bill and of the Australian people. This isn't about delay or obfuscation. And when you consider the substantive matters that are in this amendment, we are getting at the arrangements directly of the Commander of the Defence Forces, the CDF, who we have direct responsibility for in Australia.
