Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, has used the start of Mental Health Week (9 October – 15 October) to promote community awareness about mental health issues and remind locals in the Mitchell community about the importance of the social and emotional wellbeing of themselves, their families, loved ones and communities.
Alex Hawke said it was important for all of us, whatever our background, age or circumstances, to help each other to identify mental health issues and seek support.
The Turnbull Coalition Government today confirmed it will implement its election commitment to introduce a new temporary sponsored parent visa. The temporary sponsored parent visa will allow Australians to sponsor their parents to stay in Australia for up to five years.
Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection Alex Hawke today announced a series of community consultations and called for public submissions to assist the Government with the final design of the new temporary visa and the legislative changes required to implement it.
The Turnbull Government is helping Aussie businesses become exporters through a new app.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke said the Export Essentials app, now available for Apple and Android devices from app stores, was the first of its kind specifically targeting the export community.
“The app has been developed to help both new exporters and more established businesses,” Alex Hawke said.
“It will help Mitchell small and medium enterprises succeed exporting, which creates more jobs and drives economic growth.”
Schools across the electorate of Mitchell can now apply for grants from the Turnbull Government to deliver digital literacy programs to students in engaging and innovative ways.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said the 2016 Digital Literacy School Grants program was looking for projects that demonstrated new and innovative methods for teaching students how to use and understand digital technology.
More than 2000 medicine brands treating common conditions will drop in price for residents in Mitchell from next month – some by as much as 50 per cent or more – with the Turnbull Government delivering a win-win for consumers and taxpayers.
“The Coalition Government is continuing to deliver the largest ever reductions in the price of medicines for consumers across the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme,” Alex Hawke MP, Federal Member for Mitchell said.
