Christmas is a wonderful opportunity for families, friends and neighbours to come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and Australia’s Christian heritage. Christmas is a time to be grateful for the blessings of peace and prosperity we enjoy as a nation.
On behalf of my family, Amelia, Jack, Lachlan, Thomas, Jonathan, I would like to wish you and your family a happy and holy Christmas, and a safe and prosperous 2024.
Youth Mental Health and suicide prevention are critical issues in our community. With the increase of social media and online bullying together with the impact from COVID-19, the rise of mental health issues in young people is concerning.
I recently had the opportunity to host the second youth mental health forum in the Mitchell electorate. This roundtable discussion with key community leaders, focused on the PBS Psychology sessions that have been cut by Labor from 20 to 10 and the impact of vaping on our young people.

Group Homes Australia (GHA) recently located in the Hills area was founded by Tamar Krebs.

Hills Community Aid is one of the best community services in our electorate. It was a pleasure to attend the 53rd Annual General Meeting today and pay tribute to outgoing President and Chair, Allan Gibson OAM for his incredible service and leadership over the past 6 years. Allan has steered Hills Community Aid through some of the most adverse social and economic situations this country has ever seen.

Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of guns falling silent on the Western Front in the First World War: the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Our nation stands in silent reflection for one minute each year to commemorate and honour the more than 102,000 Australians who have suffered and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
It is important that their service and sacrifice is never forgotten.
