It was a great pleasure to recently visit the 2nd Castle Hill Scout Group to present vouchers to the incredible volunteers who give so much of their time to the benefit of the children and families in our community. 2nd Castle Hill Scouts were recipients of the 2022-23 Volunteer Grants program.

The Australian Greek community is one of the great migrant multicultural success stories of all of the migration waves that we have seen in Australian history. I want to pay tribute to the Hellenic Orthodox parish and the community of Parramatta. I had the great pleasure to attend the 2023 Let's Go Greek Festival. There were about 10,000 people there, and about 30,000 throughout the whole day attended from all across Sydney to celebrate Greek and Hellenic culture.
Over 600 Western Sydney community members will come together in Blacktown this evening to hear from Indigenous leaders Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, Senator Kerrynne Liddle and Warren Mundine AO about the No Case for The Voice.

The Securing Faith-Based Places grants program aims to assist faith-based places and spaces to improve security and safety. Grants available are between $25,000 and $500,000 to improve security at religious schools and pre-schools, places of worship and faith-based community centres. Ensuring that people of all faiths can practise their beliefs, free from violence and discrimination.

Local community groups in Mitchell are eligible for federal funding to support their local volunteers. $66,225 of funding is available in Mitchell under the 2023 -24 Volunteer Grants program.
Volunteering is part of the Australian way of life, and it has many social and economic benefits such as increased confidence, reduced marginalisation, and skill development.
The grants support organisations whose volunteers assist our communities and encourage the inclusion of vulnerable people in our society.
