Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, encourages teachers and school leaders in Mitchell to take action against bullying.
Alex Hawke MP said registrations were now open for schools to sign up to the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence on Friday 15 March 2019.
“The National Day of Action is a national movement against bullying and cyberbullying, and registered schools in Mitchell would receive new anti-bullying materials and teaching resources,” Alex Hawke said.
The Liberal National Government will provide $54.5 million for research that will give new hope and support to the more than 120,000 Australian children and adults, including many in Mitchell living with type 1 diabetes.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said the funding is provided through the Government’s landmark Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
“Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Australia will receive $25 million to advance its Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network.” Alex Hawke said.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said the Morrison Government’s reforms to child care were driving down out-of-pocket costs for parents in Mitchell.
Alex Hawke said since our Government’s Child Care Subsidy was introduced on 2 July 2018, out-of-pocket child care costs for families had reduced by 10.4 per cent.
“The Morrison Government is providing record funding and greater support to families in Mitchell as part of its new Child Care Package, including the Child Care Subsidy,” Alex Hawke said.
The Coalition Government is making a significant investment of $36.8 million for Parkinson’s medical research through the Garvan Institute’s Australian Parkinson Mission and in Parkinson’s nurses to improve the life of people living with the disease and ultimately to find a cure for this devastating condition.
Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP, said Parkinson’s disease is recognised as the second most common neurodegenerative disorder in Australia.

The Federal Member for Mitchell, the Hon Alex Hawke MP is calling on sport and physical activity providers in Mitchell to apply for funding for a national $28.9million program aimed at encouraging Australians to get more active.
Alex Hawke MP urges sporting groups and local government organisations to create or enhance programs that would help attract people across a wide range of age, ability and location to participate in physical activity and sport.
