The Hills is more than just where we live — it’s where we raise our families, support one another, and live out the values we hope to pass on to the next generation. It’s a vibrant, resilient and forward-looking community — and I’m proud to serve it.
Over the next three years, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure your voice is heard in Canberra. For me the Liberal Party of Australia will always be the party of the individual, personal liberty and greater economic freedom, stronger families and ultimately a smaller and better government. The Government must serve our people and not the other way around. Where the Liberal Party has strayed from these ideals we must listen, learn and return to core values and the policy that comes from those beliefs.
This election sent a strong message: the Liberal Party must do more to understand and reflect the realities of modern Australian life. That means listening carefully, engaging openly, and responding thoughtfully to what communities like ours are telling us.
With Sussan Ley now elected as our new leader, there is a renewed sense of purpose in our party. Sussan brings a deep understanding of modern Australia and is committed to rebuilding a Liberal Party that is inclusive, forward-looking, and grounded in the values that unite us. I look forward to working with her as we rebuild trust and deliver real results for our communities.
Here in Mitchell, I’ve heard that message clearly—particularly from women—about what needs to change. Whether it’s affordability pressures, access to services, or support for families, your feedback has been honest, constructive, and deeply appreciated. These conversations will continue to guide me as I work to bring your concerns and aspirations into national policy debates.
To the incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, and belief in what we’re working towards — thank you. Whether it was early mornings at train stations, weekends at street stalls, or standing strong through rain and long days at polling booths, your dedication was extraordinary. I am truly grateful for your support and friendship.
To my family — thank you for your strength, encouragement, and patience. I couldn’t do this without you. And to everyone in our community — thank you for your trust, your conversations, and your vision for a better future. I will always stand up for you, your family, and our community.
Please continue to email me alex.hawke.mp@aph.gov.au and provide constructive feedback on the election. I am very interested to hear your thoughts.
Representing Mitchell is an honour I will never take for granted.
