Australia's worst maritime disaster: SS Montevideo Maru shipwreck found

Aminya Village & Aminya Centre at Baulkham Hills, held a beautiful ANZAC Commemoration service for its residents and families. I want to pay tribute to Norm Butler, who co-ordinated an incredible photo gallery of residents and family members who served in past conflicts of War.

We remembered, a brave young sailor, (a relative of one of the families present) who died in Australia’s greatest naval tragedy. The next day we were all surprised to read about the important discovery of the shipwreck SS Montevideo Maru after 81 years since the worst maritime disaster in Australia’s history.

Australians need to learn more of our amazing military and wartime history and the sacrifices of so many brave people. We remember the families who will be feeling the emotion of this amazing and important development.
